Another disappointment!!!
That's the only way to put it! 7 draws out of 10 is decent record, but not for Liverpool! Not for all the fans of Mighty Reds who have waited for almost 19 years to end the clubs title drought!
Let's put things into perspective! Majority of Benitez buys had been below the EPL standard, frankly speaking. Remember Josemi, Itandje, Pellegrini, Penant, Crouch, Kewell and etc. All had been decent players, but not anything more. Benitez knows, to clinch the title from other teams in EPL, he needs more than decent players.
So whats stopping him?
Remember, LFC WAS a GREAT club! Time has taken its toll and changing it from a GREAT club to good club. So definately, finance is a big issue.
Another is, its pulling power of players. If a player is approached by any other top clubs in Europe such as Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man United, Arsenal and etc, most likely to choose any club but Liverpool. At least now, due to Liverpool's highest ranking in European Club Union by UEFA, there are players who might be tempted to join.
At the start of the season, although i hope Liverpool will win the EPL, but realistically i expected them to fight for the title at least till March.... With the current trend, i have a doubt whether it will happen....
